新北基督教特展 北台灣宣教第一人馬偕
(記者黃秀麗新北報導)新北市民政局19日起到25日一連7天，在市府東側1樓大廳舉辦「基督教在新北特展」，帶領民眾回顧146年前基督教在北台灣發展的歷程。展覽以基督教在北台灣宣教的第一人「馬偕博士」作出發，介紹其生平記事、基督教大事記、及新北市基督教概況及主要宗派介紹等。
民政局長江俊霆表示，平安夜是基督教教會慶祝聖誕的日子，也是基督徒三大節慶之一，新北市是基督教在北台灣的發源地，在耶穌基督降生的平安夜前夕，特別與真理大學舉辦特展，讓民眾循著歷史軌跡了解馬偕博士在基督教、地方人文、醫療、以及教育的貢獻。
真理大學校史館館長王榮昌牧師表示，馬偕博士1872年在淡水登岸，建立了北台灣第一間教會─淡水教會開始佈道，在台30年間創建教會60間，受洗信徒達3千餘人，跋山涉水於客、閩、平埔、高山原住民間，足跡遍及大甲溪以北，東達宜蘭、花蓮。
除了傳教，馬偕對現代教育的貢獻也非常大，現存的牛津學堂（理學堂大書院）就位於真理大學內，是馬偕在淡水創立的西式現代化學校；另外，馬偕也將其在多倫多與紐約學習的醫療知識，在台灣民眾普遍患牙疾的年代，與學生聯手拔了2萬1千顆牙齒，減輕民眾痛苦並傳遞福音給他們。
另外，最讓市民期待的2018新北平安夜活動，將在24日下午由愛心園遊會開場，晚上7點開始進行平安夜晚會，由知名主持人何戎夫妻擔任主持人，並邀請到李宣榕、黃美珍、蕭東山等星光幫藝人進行演唱表演，還有市長與板橋福音堂及板橋浸信會所帶領的千人詩班報佳音等精彩活動，相關活動資訊可上民政局網站查詢。(自立晚報2018/12/19)
